In the socio-economic development of Shymkent, work on improving residential areas is of particular importance. Since the majority of the city's population lives, relaxes and raises their children in these residential areas. For this purpose, construction and improvement works, which were launched in 2025 in the Badam residential area, are being carried out in stages.

On November 1, 2025, the district akim D. Yesilbek, the deputy of the city maslikhat B. Ashirbayev and the village biy B. Asanbekov jointly toured the Badam residential area and got acquainted with the progress of the work carried out since the beginning of the year. During this visit, the issues of improving the infrastructure of the settlement, creating a comfortable environment for residents, and increasing social facilities were discussed. During the meeting with residents, their opinions were listened to, and a number of suggestions and demands were taken into account.

Currently, a new children's playground and public space is being constructed at the end of K. Tursynbayuly Street, on the banks of the Badam River. The main goal of this project is to create a safe and high-quality playing environment for children, as well as create conditions for all residents to effectively spend their free time.

The playground equipment to be installed in the new park will be selected according to the age characteristics of children and will fully meet safety requirements. In addition, it is planned to install belts and exercise equipment for sports. This, in turn, will increase the interest of young people in sports and contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

As part of the improvement works, landscaping activities are also being actively carried out near the embankment. According to experts, tree saplings will be planted in the area, modern lighting and benches will be installed, and pedestrian lanes will be laid. Thus, it is expected that the banks of the Badam River will become a picturesque recreation area where residents will often visit, relax, and walk.

The district akim noted in his speech that in the Badam residential area it is planned to build not only a playground, but also several social facilities in the future. This is one of the urgent needs that have arisen due to the increase in the population. Healthcare, educational and cultural facilities are being considered in stages, and the relevant documentation is being drawn up. Such projects are aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.

During the development of public space, environmental and safety issues are also being given priority. The area along the Badam River is being monitored for illegal dumping of waste, and sanitary requirements are being observed. In addition, it is planned to install special boxes for separate waste collection. This is a unique step that will contribute to the formation of an ecological culture among residents.

During the visit, MP B. Ashirbayev expressed his opinion on the future development of the residential area, noting that the potential of the territory is very high. According to him, thanks to the development of infrastructure, the Badam residential area can become the most comfortable and convenient area in the city in the coming years. Therefore, it is important to implement any project in a high-quality and timely manner.

Village leader B. Asanbekov also shared his suggestions and spoke about the need to increase the activity of residents. It is important for residents to participate not only in the construction of public places, but also in their maintenance. In this regard, initiatives were raised to hold joint Sabbaths with the local population and to form a culture of maintaining public order.

During the meeting with residents, one of the main issues was drinking water, street lighting, and the quality of roads. Local residents expressed their wishes to the city administration to speed up the asphalting of streets and asked about the renovation of water pipes. The specialists responsible for these issues said that there are appropriate plans and that they will be resolved in stages in the future.

The work being done in the Badam residential area is in line with the state's policy of "For the Good of the People." The joint efforts of local authorities and public representatives contribute to the effective implementation of social initiatives.
