In Shymkent, as part of the opening of the modern greenhouse complex "Alsera KZ," the first tomato crop was harvested on a site included in the first stage of construction.

The ceremony marking the launch of the complex and the harvest of the first crop was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, the First Deputy Akim of the city, Aydin Karimov, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkestan, Levent Gürzhan, as well as representatives of the Turkish holding company "Alarko Holding", headed by the Chairman of the Board, Izzet Garikh.

Addressing the event participants, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that the implementation of this project was made possible by attracting significant investment and effective cooperation between the government and business. It is a clear demonstration of the high level of investor confidence in the Kazakh economy and its sustainable development.

"Such cooperation opens up enormous potential for sharing experiences and technologies and increasing trade in the agricultural sector. We are confident that our joint efforts will contribute to improving food security and the competitiveness of our countries' agricultural products. We are ready to provide the necessary support to investors at all stages of implementation," the minister said.

In his speech, the city's first deputy akim thanked the investors for the construction of the modern greenhouse complex and emphasized the project's strategic importance for fulfilling the Head of State's instructions to attract investment and implement advanced water-saving technologies in crop production.

"This is not only one of the largest greenhouse complexes in the country, but also an initiative that will elevate the region's agriculture to a new level. The project will ensure the city's food security and expand Shymkent's export potential," said A. Karimov.

He also noted that the city administration fully supports such large-scale projects and is ready to provide investors with comprehensive support. Construction of this large-scale investment project, worth $650 million, began last summer. The production capacity is 155,000 tons per year. The total area of the complex is 650 hectares, with the first phase covering 208 hectares.

Overall, a 40-hectare section of the complex will be commissioned by the end of this year, allowing for expanded production and the start of supplying the domestic market with fresh vegetables. Approximately 2,000 jobs will be created upon the first stage's completion, and 5,000 jobs upon completion of the entire project.

It's worth noting that as part of the project, Alsera KZ will also build a specialized agricultural academic center with a modern laboratory that meets international standards. The center will provide training for qualified personnel in the agricultural sector.
