Olen, Belgium, 21 November 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium Roman Vassilenko held a meeting with Ms. Carolien Willems, CEO of the company Safety Product.

During the talks, the parties discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in the field of road safety, introducing innovative engineering solutions and exploring the potential for localizing its advanced technologies in Kazakhstan. The Ambassador noted that Kazakhstan is consistently implementing large-scale reforms aimed at modernising transport infrastructure, reducing accident rates and introducing advanced safety standards, including passive road safety technologies.

Special attention was given to the company’s flagship development – the ZIPpole system, a steel energy-absorbing pole designed for lighting, road signs and elements of smart infrastructure. This technology combines durability, corrosion resistance and passive safety, significantly reducing the severity of traffic accidents.

Roman Vassilenko emphasized Kazakhstan’s interest in attracting international companies with high-tech solutions for the comprehensive modernization of the national road network. He noted that in 2024 Kazakhstan reached a record volume of work – over 12,000 km of construction, reconstruction and repair of roads, which increases the demand for modern and safe infrastructure solutions.

The Ambassador also presented information on favorable conditions available to foreign investors in Kazakhstan, including tax incentives, access to industrial infrastructure and programs to support high-tech manufacturing. “We see great potential in developing cooperation with Safety Product, including localization of passive safety systems and joint research projects,” Mr. Vassilenko stated.

In turn, Ms. Willems highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s efforts to enhance transport safety and expressed the company’s readiness for dialogue on possible cooperation – from sharing engineering expertise to localization of production. Safety Product also expressed interest in establishing long-term partnerships with Kazakh organizations, including participation in projects on roadside modernization and the implementation of technologies meeting modern standards.

Reference: Safety Product is a Belgian company founded in 2011, specialising in the production of energy-absorbing ZIPpole structures for lighting poles, road signs, surveillance cameras, solar panels and other infrastructure elements. The company’s technology has passed international crash tests, complies with the European standard EN 12767 and is used within the “safe roadsides” concept. ZIPpole manufacturing provides a 25-year warranty and can be localized in partner countries.
