22.11.2025 16:10:21 72Astana, November 21, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakh Invest Madiyar Sultanbek held a working meeting with the management of the Hungarian company UBM Group, headed by Chairman of the Board of Directors Akos Varga.
During the meeting, UBM Group presented updates on the implementation of its investment projects in Kazakhstan, which include the construction of a premix plant in Almaty Region and a feed mill in Kostanay Region. The investors reported on progress in negotiations with partners, details of establishing joint ventures, preparatory work, and next steps within the agreed implementation schedule of the first phase.
Under the first phase, the company plans to invest over 58 million US dollars in the construction of two plants. The production capacity will total 48,000 tons of premixes and 200,000 tons of compound feed per year. The project is oriented toward the markets of Kazakhstan, the EAEU, and China.
The company has already signed a joint venture agreement with AsiaAgroFood JSC (KazFoodProducts Group) for premix production and is finalizing negotiations with Eco Broiler Ltd on the construction of the feed mill in Kostanay Region. Discussions are also underway to conclude an Investment Agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
Deputy Minister Kuantyrov emphasized that the UBM Group project would significantly strengthen Kazakhstan’s agro-processing sector, improve feed quality, and reduce dependence on imports. “We see the UBM Group project as an important step toward developing deep agricultural processing and establishing a modern feed industry in Kazakhstan. It is essential that the company is ready to localize technologies and operate on a long-term basis. The government will provide full support to ensure efficient and timely implementation of the project,” he said.
Deputy Chairman Varga highlighted that the planned initiative would become Kazakhstan’s first industrial-scale premix producer and the largest feed manufacturer in the country, setting a new benchmark for agricultural processing. “We view Kazakhstan as a strategic partner and are confident that our production will create new opportunities for farmers. Local production of premixes and feed will reduce the cost of livestock products, increase their competitiveness, and ensure stable supply. We are investing in the long-term development of the sector and ready to introduce the best technological solutions,” stated Varga.
The parties discussed infrastructure support, land allocation, gas and power connectivity, and subsequent project implementation phases. According to UBM Group’s plan, the first plants are expected to be commissioned in Q1 2027.
The company also confirmed its intention to move forward with the second phase, which envisions the construction of two additional feed mills in Karaganda and Turkistan Regions.
