Forwards of the Karaganda team Alexander Borisevich and Artyom Likhotnikov, defenders Eduard Mikhailov and Ivan Stepanenko, as well as doctor Ivan Zhurbin and massage therapist Vadim Ponomarev were drafted into the national team of Kazakhstan and after training camps went to Beijing for the continental championship. From November 20 to November 23, our ice squad played with all the participants of the Asian Championship. Led by Talgat Zhailauova, she beat South Korea (4:2) and China (5:1), and then defeated Japan in the final match with a score of 4:3.

Thus, the national team of Kazakhstan became a two-time champion of Asia. Last year, Kazakhstanis also won the continental championship, which was held in Almaty.

Of course, the highlight of the championship was Ivan Stepanenko's hat-trick in the opening match. He was recognized as the best defender of the Asian Championship. Congratulations to our hockey players on their victory!
