Classroom Named After Distinguished Military Scholar Opens

A new academic classroom named in honor of the distinguished military scholar, Colonel Kanat Tolengutov, has been inaugurated at the National Guard Faculty of the National Defense University. Colonel Tolengutov made a significant contribution to the development of military science in Kazakhstan.

The ceremony was attended by the leadership of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the administration of the military university, veterans of the law-and-order troops, colleagues, students, as well as the scholar’s family and close friends.

During the opening ceremony, several speakers shared their memories of Kanat Faizrakhmanovich, including the First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov; Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Bauyrzhan Abzhanov; and the Head of the National Defense University, Major General Askar Mustabekov, along with other colleagues.

“I consider Kanat Faizrakhmanovich one of the key architects of modern military pedagogy. It can be confidently stated that his ideas, works, teaching materials, and approaches to military science became the foundation of the officer training system. Therefore, it is important to understand that preserving and honoring his name serves as an enduring example of his professional legacy for the younger generation and promotes the value of honorable service to the Motherland,” noted Major General B. Abzhanov.

The new classroom features an information display presenting the scholarly works, scientific achievements, and key milestones of Colonel Kanat Tolengutov’s life. The classroom will serve as an important resource for training future officers, conducting research, and strengthening military-patriotic education.

Colonel Tolengutov Kanat Faizrakhmanovich was a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, member of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, and member of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation. From 2008 to 2013, he served as Head of the Training and Scientific Work Department of the Combat Training Directorate of the law-and-order troops. He made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of the National Guard Academy in Petropavl and the National Guard Faculty at the National Defense University. He authored more than 100 scientific works, which continue to be effectively used in the military education system today.
