The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Attends Mathias Corvinus Collegium Conference on Geopolitics and Energy Cooperation in the Turkic and European Regions

Budapest, November 24, 2025 – H.E. Abzal Saparbekuly, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, attended the international conference “Charting the Future: Geopolitics and Energy Policies in Europe and the Turkic States”, organized by the Center for International Economy at Mathias Corvinus Collegium.

The conference brought together leading experts and academicians, including experts from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye as well as Hungary to address the rapidly changing geopolitical environment and its implications for Europe, Central Asia, and the Turkic world. The discussions focused on the consequences of shifting global power dynamics, the reconfiguration of energy supply routes, and the growing strategic competition in regions such as Central Asia and the Caspian basin.

Participants highlighted key measures needed to respond effectively to current geopolitical challenges, including strengthening energy diversification, enhancing regional connectivity, deepening cooperation among allied and partner states, and building resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding external shocks.

Special attention was given to the role of the Turkic countries, whose shared heritage and strong sense of brotherhood support closer political coordination and create new avenues for economic development. Speakers underlined that enhanced unity among the Turkic states contributes not only to cultural ties but also to strategic economic benefits, particularly through improved transport corridors, energy cooperation, and new investment opportunities.

The event also reaffirmed Hungary’s respected and constructive role within the Turkic world, acting as a crucial bridge between Central Europe and Turkic states. Hungary’s engagement as an Observer in the Organization of Turkic States and its active participation in regional dialogue were recognized as important contributions to stability, cultural exchange, and mutually beneficial economic partnerships.

The participation of H.E. Abzal Saparbekuly, underscored Kazakhstan’s commitment to advancing cooperation with Hungary and supporting joint efforts to strengthen security, connectivity, and long-term development across the broader Eurasian region.
