An expanded meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council was held

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, together with members of the official delegation, participated in an expanded meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
The leaders of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan considered current issues of ensuring the collective security of the Organization's member states, summarized the main areas of the CSTO's work this year, and identified priorities for the coming period.
The presidents expressed their gratitude to Imangali Tasmagambetov, who is completing his term as Secretary General of the CSTO.
During the meeting, a decision was approved to appoint Taalatbek Masadykov, a representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, to the post of Secretary General of the CSTO for a three-year term starting January 1, 2026.
Following the meeting, a Declaration of the Collective Security Council was adopted. A number of documents aimed at comprehensively improving the collective security system in the interests of the Organization's member states were also signed.
