Vilnius, 27 November 2025 – As part of Kazakhstan’s “Year of Working Professions” and the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of Sovereignty – Republic Day – the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Lithuania held an award ceremony honoring Lithuanian citizens for their long-standing cooperation with our country and the Embassy.

Among the awardees was the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan, Jonas Jagminas, who received the “Qurmet” Order. His professional path – from an ordinary collective farm worker to a member of the Lithuanian Government – has always been closely connected to Kazakhstan and cooperation in the agricultural sector. Since independence, J. Jagminas has represented Kazakhstan’s interests as Honorary Consul and has contributed significantly to strengthening business ties between the two countries.

Letters of appreciation were also presented to Lithuanian citizens Anatoliy Bedniakov and Aida Jankoyte, as well as to our countryman Robert Rustemov, for their many years of perfect service at the diplomatic mission.

Presenting the awards, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Timur Urazayev emphasized that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s call to value the work of people who strengthen trust in society and demonstrate the principles of a “listening state” in practice must be reflected in the daily work of state institutions.

The ceremony was attended by Members of the Seimas of Lithuania, as well as representatives of academic and public circles.
