On 26 November 2025, the Kazakhstan–Malaysia Friendship Group held its regular meeting via videoconference. The Malaysian side was led by the Deputy President of the Senate of Malaysia, Nur Jazlan Mohamed, while the Kazakh side was represented by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Suindyk Aldashev.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to enhancing trade and economic cooperation, improving logistics routes, and advancing digital integration, including the potential alignment with modern Silk Road initiatives. The importance of exchanging business delegations to explore investment opportunities and establish direct contacts between the business communities of both countries was emphasized.

A separate part of the discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the field of education. The Malaysian side expressed interest in opening branches of leading Malaysian universities in Kazakhstan, as well as in arranging for Malaysian medical students to study at higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.

The parties underlined the need to further expand the contractual and legal framework, which would provide systematic support for new initiatives and enhance predictability in priority areas of cooperation.

The Malaysian side invited the Kazakh parliamentary delegation to visit Kuala Lumpur to continue substantive dialogue and further strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation.
