Today, the mayor of Shymkent participated in the ceremony of launching the drinking water system together with residents of the "Aikol" residential area. The project is being implemented as a result of a field meeting with residents. During the meeting, residents noted that providing the microdistrict with high-quality drinking water is an urgent issue.

As part of the project, a 14.7-kilometer water pipeline network was constructed. As a result, 38 subscribers - residential buildings and social facilities - were provided with full drinking water supply. This, in turn, significantly improved the sanitary and hygienic conditions and increased the quality of life of the local population.

Nazym Kalybekova, a resident of Shymkent:
"The water has been restored, thank you all. We hope that everything will improve now. Maybe we will even start planting a garden and growing fruits," he said with joy.

The city mayor expressed his gratitude to the sponsors who supported the project, as well as to the contractor who performed the work in a high-quality and timely manner. The joint work of the akimat, business representatives, and residents of the district made it possible to achieve results in a short time.

Currently, the level of drinking water coverage in Shymkent is 99.5 percent. The akimat plans to increase this figure to 99.9 percent. This year, the water system was launched in the Tekesu and Kyzylzhar-2 microdistricts. Next in line is the large Kursai residential area with more than 4.5 thousand houses. The drinking water system is planned to be connected here this month.

Head of the Shymkent City Energy and Infrastructure Development Department Rzabek Mendikulov:

"According to our plan, a major infrastructure project will be launched in the Kursai residential area in December of this year. After the project is implemented, the city's drinking water coverage will reach 99.9 percent. Today, water has been supplied to the settlements of Tekesu and Kyzylzhar-2. Today, the Aikol residential area has also been provided with drinking water," he noted.

The launch of the water system in the "Aikol" residential area is the result of an open dialogue with the population and the prompt resolution of tasks aimed at improving living conditions. In the future, work on the development of municipal infrastructure will continue, which, in turn, will allow creating comfortable conditions for the city's residents.
