A special meeting was held in the district, where topical issues related to agriculture were discussed. The meeting was attended by akim of the district Berik Sarmenbayev, head of the Regional Department of Agriculture and land relations Talgat Duisebayev, who considered in detail the preparation for the upcoming sowing season in the context of water scarcity in the region. During the meeting, the head of the Regional Department of Agriculture and land relations Talgat Duisebayev discussed the current state of irrigated agriculture in the district during the growing season, the results of the agricultural campaign this year and the directions of work planned for the next sowing period. The head of the department drew attention to the decrease in the volume of water along the Syrdarya River and its impact on arable land. Speaking on the agenda, industry experts noted the need to provide irrigation water, reduce the consequences of water shortages, and revise the structure of crops. In particular, proposals were made to reduce rice fields and gradually switch to low – water crops-corn, safflower and other alternative products. It was noted that the work in this direction will allow maintaining the stability of the agricultural sector and efficient use of Water Resources. The Majilis also discussed the instructions of the head of state on the widespread introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture. In this regard, the issues of introducing modern methods such as drip and sprinkler irrigation, cleaning of water channels and drains, and improving the water metering system are on the agenda. At the Mazhilis, representatives of economic structures made proposals. Summing up the meeting, the Akim of the district noted the importance of strengthening the preparation for the upcoming growing season from today. He noted the need for full and high-quality development of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural machinery necessary for spring field work, the development of specific plans for the rational use of water sources. At the same time, he called on all responsible industry leaders and economic leaders to work together and harmoniously, noting that it is a common task to ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
