The National Catalog of Goods will become a mandatory tool for all participants in trade in Kazakhstan. In a single register, each unit is assigned the NTIN code - a kind of "IIN" for the product. We will tell you how and who should register products in the new system.

Who needs to connect to the National Catalog of Goods

Connection to tubing is mandatory for businesses involved in the circulation of goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan. These are manufacturers, importers, wholesale companies and distributors, retail stores and retail chains, online platforms and marketplaces.

Each participant uses the tubing as part of their role - from the registration of the goods to the correct transfer of data during the sale. At the same time, the creation of a product card is free, so the introduction of tubing should not lead to higher prices.

Who should register product cards in tubing

Registration of goods cards in the National Catalog of Goods is mandatory  for producers and importers in some countries. If, as of January 1, 2026, you still have a product on sale that is not registered with the tubing, then you must assign it the NTIN code, even if you are not a manufacturer or importer. In order to check the availability of product cards, create new ones and make changes to them, you need to register on the site nct.kz.

When filling out a new card, you must add information about the name of the product, brand, characteristic, composition and country of origin. At the same time, before creating a card, it is recommended to check the availability of the product in the catalog. There are already more than 15 million cards in the system, and if the same product is supplied by different importers, his card could have been created earlier. In this case, you do not need to re-register the item.

Cash register update: what everyone needs to do

After implementation of the tubing, all cash registers shall operate according to the protocol 2.0.3, which supports the transmission of NTIN codes. This work is independently carried out by the cash register technical service together with the Fiscal Data Operator. The business only needs to use the goods already in the tubing with its NTIN code and scan it upon sale.

Note that the use of cash registers in trade in Kazakhstan is a legal requirement. Simplified schemes will be provided for bazaars and rural sellers, but it will not be possible to completely avoid connection.

If the product does not have a national commodity code NTIN, then it is assigned a temporary code so as not to block trade. After that, the entrepreneur must enter the data into the tubing and receive a permanent code.
