On December 1, 2025, a working meeting was held in Jerusalem between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Mr. Michael Itzhakov, Director General of the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Israel, during which key areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism were discussed.

The main focus was placed on the restoration of direct flights between Kazakhstan and Israel, the development of tourist exchanges, and the creation of joint tourism products. The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to assist air carriers in assessing demand and jointly promoting routes, as well as proposed organizing press tours and familiarization trips for media representatives.

The parties reviewed prospects for cooperation in pilgrimage, wellness, and eco-tourism, as well as opportunities for exchanging experience in infrastructure development, digital solutions, and tourist flow management. During the discussion, it was noted that pilgrimage tourism between Kazakhstan and Israel holds significant potential: citizens of Kazakhstan traditionally visit Christian holy sites of Israel, as well as Islamic holy places, including the Al-Aqsa compound, while Israeli pilgrims show interest in the spiritual heritage of Kazakhstan, including the Chabad-Lubavitch Jewish Center in Almaty, which houses the burial site of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson. This forms a basis for expanding religious and cultural routes and strengthening humanitarian ties between the two countries.

The Kazakh side also expressed interest in promoting its tourism opportunities in the Israeli market and invited the Ministry of Tourism of Israel to participate in the country’s major industry events, including “KITF” in Almaty and the “Astana Tourism Forum.”

The parties confirmed their interest in continuing constructive dialogue and implementing joint marketing initiatives.
