Last year, bilateral trade turnover reached about $50 billion. And the total volume of investments that have come to our country since 2005 has reached almost $200 billion. Kazakhstan accounts for 80 percent of the European Union's trade with Central Asia.
The President noted the contribution to our economy of more than 4,000 European companies operating in the energy, transport, digitalization, and industrial sectors. He also confirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to providing a stable and open investment climate for European businesses.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid special attention to humanitarian cooperation and expressed gratitude for the European Union's educational programs, within the framework of which more than 5,000 Kazakhstani students and teachers have had the opportunity to improve their education and undergo internships in European Union countries.
The Head of State welcomed the start of preparatory work on visa facilitation and readmission agreements.
According to the President, Kazakhstan supports the active dialogue between the European Union and Central Asia in the C5+EU format. This platform has paved the way for promoting common interests in the field of sustainable growth and connectivity.
The Head of State noted that the C5+ dialogue has become an effective mechanism for implementing priorities in the development of the region.
