The first of the new universal emergency service complexes, which have no analogues in the country, were put into operation in Shymkent. Today, the grand opening ceremony, held in the Yeltai residential area of Enbekshin district, was attended by the mayor of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov and the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shyngyz Arinov.
According to the Minister, the creation of such complexes is a specific task of the Head of State and an important step towards increasing the efficiency of emergency services. The new model will allow the police, emergency services, fire and ambulance departments to be concentrated in one facility and act in a coordinated manner. The integrated approach will reduce the time to arrive at the scene of an incident and strengthen interaction between departments.
The modular complexes opened in the Eltai and Tasken microdistricts fully meet these modern requirements. The new emergency service station in Eltai is located on an area of 3309 square meters, with a total land area of 7 thousand square meters. The complex includes a training tower, offices for employees, boxes for special equipment and a maneuvering area. About 50 specialists work here around the clock.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chingiz Arinov said:
"This is the first time a joint depot has been opened. This is an initiative that can be an example for the entire country. Our main principle is that the police, medical services, and emergency services stand together and face the same threat together. I wish you success in your work," he said.
The project was implemented in just six months at the expense of the local budget and is fully equipped in accordance with modern standards. The complex serves more than 25 thousand people living in the residential areas of Eltai, Mayatas, Togys and Aynatas.
As part of the event, a number of citizens who contributed to the development of the emergency system were awarded. Letters of Gratitude from the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan were presented to the First Deputy Akim of Shymkent and heads of the city administration. In addition, veterans and employees of the industry were awarded the 30th anniversary medal of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Local residents have praised the opening of the new complexes as a significant step towards improving the city's security. Batyrkhan Ashetov, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Kazygurt Residential Area:
"Previously, when there was an emergency, it would take a while for services to arrive. Now everything comes from one place. What they are saying is that they can reach the most remote point in 7 minutes. This is a very welcome initiative for the people," he said.
The ceremony ended with a ribbon cutting and the official launch of the complex. The city administration plans to open two more such modular complexes by the end of the year. Next year, the construction of 7 additional facilities will be completed, completely modernizing the emergency services system of Shymkent.
