The annual meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum and a media briefing were held

Brasilia, December 8, 2025 – The annual meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum, co-chaired by Ambassador Bolat Nussupov and former Senator of the National Congress Ulisses Riedel, was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in a hybrid format, along with a media briefing.

The event focused on the key aspects of the President's Address to the Nation of Kazakhstan, «Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation» dated September 8, 2025, as well as the results of the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held in Astana in September of this year. The parties also discussed current issues of Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation, including joint plans for 2026.

During the event, welcoming addresses from the Brazilian side were delivered by President and Vice President of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum, Ulisses Riedel and Cassiano Pereira Viana, Executive Director of the Forum, Professor Edelsio Américo and Vice President of the Brazilian Association of Journalists (ABRAJINTER),Silvana Skorzin.

In turn, the Kazakh Ambassador briefed the guests on the progress of reforms implemented by the country's leadership as part of the Head of State's annual address, as well as Kazakhstan's achievements in domestic policy, democratic development, socioeconomic and constitutional reforms, as well as digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the key aspects of the development of Kazakh-Brazilian bilateral relations this year and intentions for their expansion in 2026 were outlined.

Osvaldo Conde, a member of the Theosophical Society and writer (Brazil), and Imam Marwan Gill (Argentina), President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Argentina and Commissioner for Religious Freedom of the Organization of American States (OAS), delivered presentations on the topic   «The Role of Religion as a Factor in Sustainable Global Development». They participated in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions from the South American Region. At the initiative of the Brazilian religious community, the meeting participants adopted the «Astana Declaration of Peace 2025».

At the end of the meeting, the Brazilian forum participants expressed gratitude for organizing the event and wished success in developing Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation. The Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Society (Forum), founded in 2022, traditionally meets at the beginning and end of the year to discuss current cooperation issues.
