In Pavlodar, servicemembers of military unit 6679 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with officers of the Penal Enforcement System Committee (KUIS), prevented two attempts to smuggle prohibited items into correctional institutions.
As part of the instruction of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in line with the “Law and Order” ideology, security measures at correctional facilities have been strengthened. This has made it possible to promptly detect and stop unlawful actions aimed at transferring prohibited items to inmates.
On 9 December 2025 at around 12:15, during inspection of a parcel at a facility guarded by military unit 6679, a control and supervision squad inspector discovered ten tubes containing a substance of unknown origin with a strong odor hidden inside a package of dates.
According to preliminary findings of the investigative-operational group, the tubes contained hash oil. The prohibited items were seized by the arriving investigative team and sent for examination.
On the same day, at another facility, five mobile phones, five sets of earphones, and four SIM cards were discovered and confiscated during inspection of food items. The items had been carefully concealed inside a food container and were intended for illegal transfer.
Both smuggling attempts were successfully prevented thanks to the vigilance and coordinated actions of National Guard servicemembers and KUIS officers. All materials related to the incidents have been handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation.
