At the Semey secondary security facility, a 27-year-old convict registered a marriage with his 25-year-old lover.

                  The registration of the newlyweds was conducted by an employee of the RAGS. The ceremony was held in compliance with all the traditions of the solemn event and quarantine restrictions.

            A 27-year-old convict, a resident of the Almaty region, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2022 for making counterfeit payment cards.

              — My beloved and I were classmates from the first to the eleventh grade. So, slowly, I fell in love. Her family was well-off, and I grew up with parents who abused alcohol, and I had practically no means of supporting myself. But for every holiday, I tried to find a gift for her," the convict shared.

               The marriage registration procedure is no different from the usual one. The only difference is that the bride must arrive at the institution and confirm her consent to the ceremony in writing. After that, the staff submits an application to the local RAGS, which registers the marriage directly in the correctional facility.
