Akim of Almaty, Darkan Satybaldy, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Ibrahimov.

The parties discussed issues of strengthening trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties, as well as exchanging experience in the field of tourism.

The head of the metropolis noted the positive dynamics of trade turnover between Almaty and Uzbekistan, which over 9 months of the current year grew by almost 20% to 850 million US dollars. The city of Almaty accounts for about one-fifth of the total trade turnover between the two countries. There are 4,174 enterprises with Uzbek capital registered in Almaty.

In turn, the Ambassador of the neighboring state emphasized that these figures indicate a high level of trust and partnership between the parties.
