The Shymkent Youth Theatre gave special children the warmth and light of the New Year.

Shymkent, December 22, 2025
On the eve of the New Year, the Shymkent Youth Theater held a charity New Year's party for children with autism and special educational needs. Around 100 children attending the Kamkorlyk Rehabilitation Center of the Shymkent City Education Department were invited to the festive event, where they enjoyed unforgettable experiences and genuine emotions.
The event was held in accordance with the instructions of Shymkent Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov and with the direct support of the city administration. The main goal of the matinee was to give children a festive atmosphere, emotional support, and a sense of community care and attention.
As part of the program, the Shymkent Youth Theater's creative team presented the musical fairy tale "The Stolen New Year." Children delightedly met Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, as well as their favorite characters—Chicky, Chacha, Bumbum, Lyalya, Wednesday, Sonic, the Grinch, and others—who transported them to a magical fairytale world.
The festive program was interactive: the young audience members actively participated in games, sang, danced, and genuinely enjoyed the event. The performance not only brought joy to the children but also fostered their imagination, creativity, and self-confidence. At the end of the celebration, each child received a New Year's gift from Father Frost.
Director of the Shymkent Youth Theatre Rasul Medetov noted:
"Bringing joy to special children is our human and civic duty. Theater is more than just a stage and art; it is a space of warmth, hope, and faith. In his addresses, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive society and strengthening social support. We sincerely thank the leadership of the Shymkent City Akimat for their ongoing support and attention to such important social initiatives. Through joint efforts, good deeds become systemic," he said.
This evening, filled with joy and smiles, will long be remembered by the children. Events like these help special children feel confident in society, adapt more easily to social situations, and unlock their creative potential.
The Shymkent Youth Theatre intends to continue its charitable and socially oriented activities, spreading warmth, kindness, and hope through art.
