Islamabad, December 24, 2025 – negotiations in virtual format between Deputy Akim of Almaty H.E. Mr. Olzhas Smagulov and Commissioner of Karachi H.E. Mr. Syed Hassan Naqvi were held.

The parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation between the two business capitals of Kazakhstan and Pakistan, exchanged views on promising areas for the development of cooperation in trade, investment, education, tourism and culture.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin noted that Almaty and Karachi are the largest financial, transport-logistics and cultural centers of the two countries, have significant potential that can contribute to further expansion and diversification of Kazakh–Pakistan bilateral cooperation.

In addition, the Ambassador informed about the upcoming bilateral events at the highest and high levels and suggested that contacts between higher education institutions and business communities of the two cities should be intensified in the near future. 

Following the meeting, an agreement to organize a series of events and visits next year to explore existing opportunities and identify specific areas of partnership was reached.
