From December 1 to 3, 2025, the «Visit Aqmola» Tourist Information Center, under the Akmola Region Department of Tourism, held a three-day training seminar for tour guides at the Burabay Resort Area. The training event was held at the Insar Hotel.

More than 60 tour guides from the Akmola Region and Astana, including novice professionals and experienced practitioners, participated in the seminar.

The seminar included theoretical and practical educational blocks focused on developing competencies in the field of excursion activities, communication with tourists, and presentation of historical and cultural material. The seminar aimed to improve the professional qualifications of tour guides in the region, enhance their practical and methodological skills, and establish a unified standard for providing excursion services in the Akmola Region.

Speakers from the scientific and historical community, professional tour guides from tourist companies, local historians and public figures, as well as specialists from national parks, were invited to speak.

The first speaker was Artykbaev Zhambyl Omarovich, an ethnographer, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Professor. The topic of his lecture was "The Historical Heritage of the Burabay Resort": from the Stone and Bronze Ages to the periods of the early nomads of the Great Steppe, the Saka-Scythian civilization, and the time of Abylai Khan. The speaker presented an overview of the key stages of the territory's development and its cultural and natural significance for the region.

The program was continued by Akanova Saule Raušanovna, a tour guide of the 3rd category at Arman-Tour, who presented material on the features of travel excursion information on the Astana-Burabay route. The participants learned how to form the route structure, combine factual information with legends, statistical data, geographical facts, artistic images, and poems, making the tour rich, dynamic, and engaging.

The next speaker was Evgeny Vladimirovich Arkhipov, a senior researcher at the Department of Science, Information, and Environmental Monitoring at the Burabay National Park, who presented a lecture on the flora and fauna of the national park. The participants gained new knowledge about the natural diversity of the park's territory and the typical species of animals and plants.

The final lecture focused on the legends of the Burabay resort. The speaker was Maral Kashkenovna Dzhakupova, a local historian and public figure. Her presentation introduced the participants to the famous legends of the region, including the history of the Akylbai Pass, the Abylai Khan Meadow, the Akbura, Okzhetpes, and Zhumbaktas Rocks, Lake Aynakol, and the traditional stone balbals that preserve the spirit of the steppe civilization.

It is important to note that the seminar also included a tour of the new and renovated observation decks at the Burabay resort, where participants were shown the possibilities of conducting tours at these locations, as well as a visit to the Nomadius Ethnographic Museum and the Sokolov Cheese Factory.

The event served as a platform for sharing experience, establishing new professional connections, and creating conditions for the professional growth of tourism professionals and the expansion of the region's tourism potential. The knowledge gained can be an important resource for improving the quality of tourist excursions in the Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort area.
