From 21 to 23 January, H.E. Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), conducted a working visit to the Lebanese Republic. During the visit, meetings were held with Dr. Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon and Mr. Salim Baddoura, Director General of the Department for International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lebanese Republic.

The discussions focused on strengthening Lebanon’s engagement with IOFS and on the country’s possible accession to the Organization. The Lebanese side expressed strong interest in IOFS’s activities and underlined the importance of preparing concept notes setting out the practical benefits of potential membership, as well as priority areas for project cooperation with the Organization.

The meetings also addressed prospects for expanding Kazakhstan-Lebanon cooperation in the agricultural sector, including opportunities to broaden mutual trade in agricultural products.
