Brasilia, February 5, 2026 - Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov held a traditional annual online conference with Honorary Consuls and candidates for Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Kazakhstan in South American countries.
In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador informed the participants about the key areas of socio-economic reforms being implemented by the country's leadership, aimed at modernizing the economy and improving the well-being of the population. Special attention was paid to the constitutional reform being carried out in Kazakhstan.
B.Nussupov called on the Honorary Consuls to intensify their efforts to protect the rights and interests of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to strengthen assistance in the development of investment cooperation with the regions of South America, and to initiate proposals for expanding the legal framework. In this context, it was proposed to organize trade and economic business missions to Kazakhstan in 2026, including those timed to coincide with the GECA-2026 International Geological Forum, the Machine Builders Forum, and the Export Insurance Forum, which will take place in April this year in Astana.
In the field of investment cooperation, successful projects involving Brazilian companies WEG and Water System Technologies, as well as Chilean company ME Elecmetal, implemented in Kazakhstan, were noted.
The ambassador also stressed the importance of intensifying work on the creation of friendship groups in the parliaments of the countries of the region and the formation of business councils.

In their speeches, the Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported on the work done to expand political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties, and presented proposals on priority areas for joint activities for 2026.
The conference participants agreed that, given the absence of Kazakh diplomatic missions in most South American countries, the activities of honorary consuls are a key tool for supporting bilateral interaction and an important factor in the development of comprehensive cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the countries of the region.
