Female Penal Colony Staff in Abai Region Help Pavlodar Resident Safely Return Home
Staff members of the female penal colony of the Abai regional correctional system assisted a Pavlodar resident and his minor son who were trapped in the snow after a long visit with his wife.
Due to a sudden deterioration in weather conditions, their car was completely covered in snow, and the family could not continue their journey home on their own.
The 52-year-old man had come to the facility with his 15-year-old son to visit his wife, who is serving a sentence. While they were on this extended visit in the village of Shuak, the weather suddenly worsened — strong winds and heavy snowfall made travel impossible. As a result, the family’s car was completely buried in snow and could not move.
Finding themselves in a difficult situation far from home, the man and his son struggled to get the vehicle out. The facility staff on duty noticed the situation and immediately came to their aid. Using their own efforts and official equipment, they cleared the snow, freed the car from the drifts, and ensured the family could continue their journey safely.
Thanks to the coordinated and prompt actions of the colony staff, the family was able to depart safely and return to Pavlodar.
"My son and I found ourselves in a very difficult situation — the car was completely covered in snow, a blizzard was raging around us, and the road was barely visible. Honestly, I was at a loss and didn’t know how to get out. At that moment, the colony staff came to help. They did not just perform their duties, but showed true human compassion. It meant a lot to me to feel that caring people were there in a difficult moment. I sincerely thank everyone who helped us return home safely," shared the Pavlodar resident.
"Our staff are always ready to help people, regardless of the circumstances. In this situation, it was not just about fulfilling official duties, but also about human responsibility, care, and support. We are proud that our team acted promptly, worked together, and did not leave people in trouble," said the head of the facility, Ualikhan Zhumashev.
Such cases once again confirm that employees of the penal system not only maintain order and security but also demonstrate high moral standards by assisting citizens in difficult life situations.
