Meeting of Ambassador Beibut Atamkulov with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov

On 10 February 2026, a meeting was held between Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov.

The meeting was a continuation of the earlier talks held with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Saidov in January 2026 and was aimed at a more detailed discussion of current cooperation issues.

The parties reviewed the schedule of bilateral events and major international activities planned for the current year, as well as upcoming meetings of joint intergovernmental and sectoral cooperation mechanisms.

Ambassador B. Atamkulov also briefed the Uzbek side on the constitutional reforms in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the forthcoming referendum in the country.

He informed about the preparations for the Regional Ecological Summit to be held in April 2026 in Astana, including the organization of numerous events in the fields of ecology, sustainable development, and education. In this context, the Ambassador presented the Uzbek side with the initiative of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. K. Tokayev to establish an International Water Organization within the UN system, as well as proposals for its implementation.

In turn, B. Usmanov noted the strong interest of the Uzbek side in the constitutional reforms in the Republic of Kazakhstan and expressed sincere support for the upcoming referendum.

The Deputy Minister also confirmed his readiness to actively participate in the planned events and highly appreciated the initiatives put forward by the Republic of Kazakhstan at the international level.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the protection of citizens’ rights, cooperation within multilateral frameworks, including the OIC and the UN ESCAP, as well as other issues.

The meeting was held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere.
