This year marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of twice Hero of Socialist Labor, "steppe academician" Nurmolda Aldabergenov. In this regard, on February 24, the Museum of the History of Rice Cultivation named after Ybray Zhakayev (Kyzylorda region, Shieli district) hosted the grand opening of the traveling exhibition of the Nurmolda Aldabergenov Memorial Museum "Nurmolda, glorified by labor." The event was attended by the chief specialists of the Shieli district, employees of the Nartai Bekezhanov Memorial Museum of Art, the Shieli Regional Museum of Local Lore, representatives of the cultural sector, as well as schoolchildren. During the event, Seyitbek Ibrayevich Zhakhaev, a descendant of twice Hero of Socialist Labor, "father of white rice" Ibray Zhakhaev, an honorary citizen of Shieli district, delivered warm words. The exhibition presents photographs, archival documents, awards and personal belongings of Nurmolda Aldabergenov, reflecting his life and career. This event is aimed at strengthening inter-museum cooperation and popularizing the spiritual connection between historical figures. The exhibition will run until February 25, 2026.
