A memorial evening for composer Kenes Duisekeev was held in Kyzylorda

A memorial evening dedicated to the 80th anniversary of composer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, holder of the "Kurmet" and "Parasat" orders, Kenes Duisekeev, was held at the "Art Center".
It was attended by the regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev, Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov, ambassadors from European Union member states, deputies of the Parliament's Senate and Mazhilis, the composer's wife Bayan Duisekeeva, his son Nurken Duisekeev and relatives.
The evening began with a screening of a video clip dedicated to the composer's work, who set his native land to music, followed by a concert program featuring selected works cherished in the nation's memory. Notably, the songs "Asyl Ana", "Oilan, Balam", "Omir, Omir", "Anaga Khat", "Oilaisyn ba, Zhanym", "Ak Kar", "Gashyk Anym", and "Okinbe Sen" were presented to the audience's attention. On stage, People's Artist of Kazakhstan Roza Rymbaeva soulfully performed the song "Salem Sagan, Tugan El". Meanwhile, Madina Saduakassova shared in the audience's warm appreciation with the song "Tengeu Bar Ma Sagan?" set to lyrics by Israel Saparbay. Additionally, Zhubanysh Zheksenuly performed the song "Tugan Zher" impressively, adding to the evening's splendor.
Kenges Duisekeev is the author of unique works that have entered the golden fund of Kazakh musical art, a prominent composer who masterfully combined national spirit with modern melody. He established his own signature in national pop and symphonic music, a figure who elevated Kazakh song art to a new level.
The composer's early works, such as "Karakozayim", "Ballada about Dombra", and "Salem Sagan, Tugan El!", themselves garnered the warm affection of the general public. The song "Karagym-ai", performed by Dimash Kudaibergen, who glorified Kazakh song on world stages, received immense admiration from thousands of foreign listeners. 
In 2006, on the occasion of the composer's 60th anniversary, a regional competition for composers and singers titled "Tugan Zher" was organized. In 2008, this artistic contest was elevated to a republican level, giving impetus to the creative paths of many talented youth and opening doors to major stages. Since 2013, the competition, which has gained international status, has annually united talents gathered from near and far countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, and Bulgaria into a single stream.
