On the Results of 2025 and the Objectives for 2026 in the Social and Labor Sphere Discussed at the Expanded Board Meeting of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan

An expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana. The participants reviewed the results of the implementation of state policy for 2025 and identified key development priorities for the social and labor sphere for 2026. The focus was placed on creating quality jobs, developing human capital, and ensuring the fulfillment of the state’s social guarantees.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva. The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askharbek Yertayev, members of Parliament, representatives of central and local government bodies, subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and social partners.

Opening the meeting, Minister Askharbek Yertayev emphasized that the Ministry’s overarching strategic priority is to ensure productive employment and stimulate the economic activity of the population.

Alongside employment issues, the state continues to fulfill all its social obligations to citizens in a timely manner and in full.

Detailed reports in their respective areas were delivered by co-speakers, including Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Viktoriya Shegay, President of JSC “Center for Labor Resources Development” Yerassyl Zhumanbayev, Chairman of the State Labor Inspection Committee Meyrambek Akhmetov, and President of the State Social Insurance Fund JSC Almas Kurmanov.

In the afternoon, the Board’s work continued in the format of specialized panel sessions with the participation of heads of the territorial departments of the State Labor Inspection Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During an open and constructive dialogue, participants discussed in detail the tasks set by the leadership, identified priority areas for further work, and exchanged practical experience on their effective implementation in the regions. Particular attention was paid to improving supervisory and control activities, enhancing the quality of interaction with employers, and protecting citizens’ labor rights.

A separate session was devoted to measures aimed at preventing and combating corruption. Participants discussed issues of procedural transparency, strict compliance with legislative requirements, and strengthening the principles of integrity within the state labor inspection system.
