Kazakhstan Presented Digital Solutions in Customs Administration at an International Seminar in Seoul

       On April 1, 2026, a Regional Seminar on Trade Facilitation Policy titled “Improving the Global Trade Ecosystem” was held in Seoul, organized by the Korea Customs Service.

      The event brought together heads and representatives of customs administrations from ASEAN and Central Asian countries. The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was led by Mr. Kairat Jumagulov, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

      The main objective of the seminar was to discuss modern approaches to trade facilitation, the development of paperless processes, and the introduction of digital technologies in customs administration.

      During the first session, the Kazakh side presented its experience in implementing electronic customs declaration. Particular attention was given to ongoing efforts in digital transformation, the development of electronic services, optimization of customs procedures, and the creation of a favorable environment for participants in foreign economic activity.

      Participants exchanged views on key issues, including the development of paperless trade, the application of artificial intelligence and big data in risk management systems, and enhancing the efficiency of customs control in the context of growing cross-border e-commerce.

      Following the seminar, the Kazakh delegation reviewed best practices of international partners, including the Republic of Korea, and discussed prospects for further practical cooperation in the customs sphere.

      The seminar contributed to strengthening international cooperation and developing joint approaches aimed at facilitating trade procedures while ensuring their transparency and security.

      The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue its efforts to implement advanced digital solutions in the customs sector.
