Four National Guard athletes become national hand-to-hand combat champions

The Republic of Kazakhstan Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship among men and women was held in Karaganda in the disciplines of “Zhekpe-zhek” and “Self-defense.” More than 300 athletes took part in the competition. As a result of the tournament, representatives of the National Guard’s “Burkit TEAM” sports club won 4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medals.
In the men’s absolute weight category, the champion was serviceman of military unit 5572 Ali Musakulov. In the women’s absolute category, serviceman of military unit 5547 Gulnaz Murat won the silver medal.
In addition, in the women’s 58 kg weight category, Aigerim Torekhan, a serviceman of military unit 5572, claimed victory. This became her fourth national championship title in hand-to-hand combat.
In the 67 kg category, serviceman of military unit 5518 Manarbek Asembay took second place. In the 80 kg category, gold was won by Darkhan Daulet, representing military unit 3502.
In the 97 kg weight category, another gold medal was secured by serviceman of military unit 5572 Abylai Shakirbekov.
Additionally, a cadet of the National Guard Academy, Baibol Kuanyshov, competing in the 73 kg category, became a bronze medalist.
It should be noted that the winners of the championship will represent Kazakhstan at the 2026 Asian Championship.
