Khovd, March 24, 2026 – as part of his working visit to Khovd Aimag, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Mongolia A.Seitakynov held talks with L.Enkhbayar Deputy Governor of Khovd Aimag.

The discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of Kazakh-Mongolian cooperation at the regional level, including trade and economic ties, cultural and humanitarian engagement, and broader interregional collaboration.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening links between Kazakhstan and Khovd Aimag. In this context, the two sides explored opportunities to expand cooperation in agriculture, education and tourism.

It was noted that an important milestone in the development of interregional cooperation was the signing, in September 2025, of a memorandum establishing twinning relations between East Kazakhstan Region and Khovd Aimag. Both sides underlined the significance of this document in advancing practical cooperation and in supporting the implementation of joint initiatives.

The interlocutors reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing a constructive dialogue and promoting joint initiatives aimed at deepening the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to continue practical engagement on matters of mutual interest.
