Kazakhstan and Latvia Resume Activities of the Business Council

Riga, April 7, 2026 – A meeting was held in Riga between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dauren Karipov, and the Co-Chairs of the Kazakhstan–Latvia Business Council: from the Kazakh side – Roman Abenov, Member of the Presidium of the Mechanical Engineering Committee of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs; from the Latvian side – Rinalds Pļavnieks, Member of the Board of Latvian Railways.

The Co-Chairs informed about plans for joint work in the identified priority areas of cooperation, including industrial cooperation, agroengineering, pharmaceuticals, and the transport and logistics sector. They emphasized the importance of efforts to diversify bilateral cooperation, including through the implementation of joint projects.

The parties agreed to promote more active engagement between the business communities of Kazakhstan and Latvia in order to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
