An event aimed at promoting education and cultural development within the correctional system was held at Institution No.50. The institution’s library collection has been expanded with a significant contribution — 500 new books donated by North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev.
The donated collection mainly consists of classic works by 20th-century authors, highlighting themes of labor, courage, human dignity, and moral choice.
As part of the official handover, the head of Institution No. 50, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Svetlana Spasskaya, visited the library and personally ознакомилась with the new arrivals. She expressed sincere gratitude to the university representatives for their support and emphasized the important role of books as an effective tool in educational and rehabilitative work, helping individuals maintain a connection with society and cultural values.
Currently, the institution’s library collection includes more than 7,000 books. Its expansion has become a strong incentive for fostering a reading culture and encouraging self-improvement among inmates.
The administration of Institution No. 50 and university representatives expressed confidence that such initiatives will continue and become a good tradition. Strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and the penal system opens up new opportunities for the social adaptation and personal development of inmates.
