April 12, 2026, Stockholm – An extensive celebration of the spring holiday Nauryz took place in Stockholm, bringing together compatriots from various cities across Sweden, as well as guests – Swedish citizens interested in Kazakhstan's culture and traditions. The event was organized at the initiative of the Kazakhstani association “Dostar”.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Sweden, Olzhas Suleimenov, noted in his welcoming remarks that Nauryz, as a day of unity, kindness, and creativity, helps bring together compatriots living abroad and strengthens cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

The guests were able to learn about Kazakh customs and traditions of hospitality, as well as enjoy national cuisine.

Representatives of the community performed a concert program at the event. National songs were performed, and compositions by N.Tlendiev, Kurmangazy, and K.Kumisbekov were played on the kobyz and dombra, while a children’s dance group organized by Association member A.Abdirakhman performed the “Kamazhai” dance. The performance by Swedish artist Sofia Rova, who played several of her own compositions on a dombra she had made herself, drew particular interest.

The audience warmly welcomed the artists’ performances, noting the high level of execution.
