Berlin, April 15, 2026 – Today, a cultural event was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Germany with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic club “Willkommen in Berlin.” The meeting was dedicated to introducing guests to the rich heritage of Kazakhstan, its traditions, and the ancient musical instruments of the Kazakh people that played a key role in shaping the spiritual world of the nomads.
In his welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Germany, Nurlan Onzhanov, emphasized the role of cultural initiatives in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship. He noted that for centuries Kazakhstan has fostered traditions of openness, hospitality, and respect for diversity, and that such meetings help convey these values to the international community.
As part of the event, participants were introduced to elements of nomadic civilization, Kazakh customs, and national rituals. Special attention was paid to the country’s musical heritage: guests learned about the history of the two oldest instruments—the kobyz and the dombra—their spiritual significance, and their role in shaping the artistic heritage of the Kazakh people.
The musical segment of the program featured traditional kuis performed on the dombra, conveying the richness and depth of steppe melodies, as well as a contemporary ethnic dance demonstrating the harmonious blend of traditional motifs and modern art.
Particular interest was sparked by a presentation on the history of the Embassy building, whose architectural features reflect the stages in the development of Kazakh-German relations.
Guests also visited the Embassy museum, where exhibits illustrating the history and lifestyle of the nomadic people are displayed. The program concluded with a presentation of the interior of a traditional Kazakh yurt, allowing participants to experience the atmosphere of steppe life.
Representatives of the diplomatic club expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and noted the value of the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan’s culture. The meeting became another contribution to strengthening humanitarian ties and expanding cultural dialogue between Kazakhstan and Germany.
