The State Revenue Department of East Kazakhstan region has announced the implementation of the "VAT Offset" functionality within the “Electronic Invoices” information system (IS EI), which is designed to streamline tax accounting for businesses while increasing the transparency of VAT transactions.

In accordance with paragraph 8 of Article 480 of the Tax Code, if a taxpayer intends to recognize the VAT amount as an offset from an electronic invoice, they must record this recognition in the IS EI system before submitting the VAT declaration, that includes the corresponding offset amount.

The new mechanism enables the generation of notifications based on received electronic invoices and records the VAT amounts accepted for offset. The confirmed data is then used to automatically pre-fill tax reports on Form 300.00.

The solution ensures a unified approach to VAT accounting and reduces the risk of reporting errors.
