On May 5, 2026, Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov attended and delivered a speech at a reception commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, organized by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty.

In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized that Victory Day is a symbol of the unity of nations. He further noted that, as stated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, the primary task is to preserve the historical truth without distortion and to pass it on to the younger generation.
