Harmony of Service and Art: First Correctional System Choir Established in Pavlodar

At the initiative of the Head of the Department of the Penal Correction System for Pavlodar Region, a unique creative project has been launched in the region — for the first time, a departmental choir has been established within the correctional system.

The new ensemble has brought together 50 employees from various divisions. Despite their demanding service duties, they have found time for art and self-expression. Rehearsals are held twice a week and have already become an important part of the team’s internal culture, promoting unity, emotional well-being, and the development of creative potential.

A special role in the choir’s formation is played by its artistic director, Gulzhan Magauyanovna Anisheva — a professional choirmaster and head of the choir of the Performing Arts Department at Toraighyrov University. Under her guidance, participants are mastering vocal skills, working on repertoire, and developing stage performance culture.

The choir’s first performance is scheduled for May 7 in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day. For the participants, this will be an important milestone and an opportunity to showcase the results of their collective efforts.

The creation of the choir is not only a step toward developing the cultural environment within the correctional system, but also a vivid example of how art can unite people, strengthen morale, and build a positive image of public service.
