Kazakhstan Presented Its GovTech Ecosystem at GovTech4Impact 2026

Madrid, May 6–7, 2026 – During his visit to Spain, the Vice Minister of AI and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dmitry Moon, participated in the international congress GovTech4Impact 2026.

At the event, the Kazakh side presented the country’s experience in digital government transformation, development of GovTech infrastructure, implementation of AI technologies, and data-driven public administration. Particular attention was given to solutions in eGov, Smart Data Ukimet (SDU), proactive public services, and AI assistants for citizens and government agencies.

One of the central events of the congress was a joint panel discussion between Vice Minister D. Moon and the Regional Minister for Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, Miguel López-Valverde. The discussion focused on the evolution of the digital state, the use of AI in the public sector, digital sovereignty, and the development of international GovTech cooperation.

In his remarks, D. Moon noted that Kazakhstan has built one of the most advanced digital public ecosystems in the region, including more than 1,300 digital public services, over 400 government information systems, a national AI platform, and a unified government Data Lake. In this context, the parties also discussed the creation of a joint GovTech Lab initiative. According to the concept, the laboratory could become one of the first bilateral GovTech platforms connecting Central Asia and Europe.

In addition, the Kazakh delegation participated in the events of Digital Week AI – Cluster IA Madrid, where meetings were held with representatives of the Spanish innovation ecosystem and technology companies. The parties confirmed their interest in further developing practical cooperation and launching joint pilot initiatives.
