What actions do the state revenue authorities take after receiving information from banks?

Answer:

After receiving information from second-tier banks, the state revenue authorities conduct their oversight activities in two stages.

The first stage involves informing the taxpayer.

Pursuant to Article 93 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the tax authorities notify the taxpayer regarding identified indicators of income generation.

It serves as a formal notice and does not require a mandatory response or justification from the recipient.

The second stage consists of control measures.

If grounds exist, the state revenue authorities will subsequently perform a cameral audit in accordance with the procedures established by the Tax Code.

Should this audit reveal discrepancies or undeclared expenses, a formal notification is issued to the taxpayer under Article 137 of the Tax Code.

This notification must be executed by the taxpayer within 30 working days, beginning the day after it is delivered.
