Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Holds Talks with Brazilian Counterpart

May 11, Astana - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, YerzhanKosherbayev, held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.

The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening Kazakh-Brazilian relations, noting the steady progress of political dialogue and the expansion of contacts at various levels.

During the talks, particular attention was paid to trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The sides reviewed measures to increase bilateral trade turnover, expand the range of traded goods, and enhance interaction between the business communities of the two countries, including through the convening of the next meeting of the Business Council.

The prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed separately, including the development of joint projects involving relevant Brazilian institutions and the introduction of advanced technologies in Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.

The foreign ministers also emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts within international platforms, including the United Nations, and reaffirmed their readiness to further cooperate on pressing global issues.

Following the meeting, the sides expressed their intention to give additional impetus to bilateral partnership and to continue constructive dialogue across all areas of cooperation.
