Vienna, May 10, 2026 — The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Austria took part in commemorative events dedicated to the liberation of the former concentration camp, the Mauthausen Memorial Complex, and to honoring the victims of Nazism.

The ceremony took place at the Mauthausen Memorial Complex, one of the largest symbols of the tragedy of World War II and a place of remembrance for tens of thousands of victims of the fascist regime. Representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Austrian leadership, international organizations, public associations, as well as relatives of former prisoners of the camp participated in the event.

Kazakhstan’s participation in the commemorative events was marked by an expression of deep respect and tribute to the heroes from Kazakhstan who, while imprisoned in Nazi camps, demonstrated courage, strength of spirit, and unwavering determination in the struggle against fascism.
