Kazakhstan and Latvia Continue to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation

Riga, May 12, 2026 - Dauren Karipov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Latvia, met with the heads of several major Latvian companies interested in developing business cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the upcoming visit of the Latvian delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for the third decade of May 2026, including planned B2B meetings, the agenda of the “Latvia-Kazakhstan 2026” business forum, and a number of other events. The parties emphasized their commitment to achieving concrete results through the implementation of joint investment projects in transport and logistics, agriculture, mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, IT, artificial intelligence, as well as the green economy.

The Kazakh diplomat noted that following the adoption of the new Constitution, the Republic of Kazakhstan has entered a new stage of development. Alongside the significant modernization of the political system, large-scale economic reforms will be carried out, including measures aimed at increasing the country’s investment attractiveness. In this regard, he called on Latvian business representatives to work more actively on strengthening business ties between the two countries both through existing mechanisms and by creating new forms of cooperation.

The parties agreed to maintain regular contacts in order to give additional momentum to the development of Kazakh-Latvian cooperation.
