Ulaanbaatar, May 12, 2026 – A ceremonial event marking the opening of a direct flight between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Mongolia operated by «SCAT Airlines» was held in Ulaanbaatar.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Almas Seitakynov, representatives of the Government and the State Great Hural of Mongolia, aviation authorities of the two countries, the management of «SCAT Airlines» and «Hunnu Air», tourism and ticketing agencies, business circles, as well as Mongolian media.

In his remarks, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted that the launch of direct air connection between Astana and Ulaanbaatar is an important practical outcome of the agreements reached within the framework of the mutual state visits of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Mongolia in 2024 and the President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh to Kazakhstan in 2026.

It was emphasized that the launch of the flight on 2 June 2026 will contribute to the further development of trade, economic, tourism, humanitarian and interregional ties between the two countries, as well as strengthen transport connectivity.
