In Shymkent, the illegal sale of a large batch of chicken eggs of Russian origin has been suppressed. The violation was identified during the joint work of employees from the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee, representatives of the Department of Trade and Consumer Rights Protection of Shymkent city, and the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan.

During control and supervision activities at the "Zhibek Zholy" market, specialists discovered eggs for sale without mandatory labeling and veterinary accompanying documents. The total volume of seized products amounted to 11,850 units.

Laboratory test results established that the products do not meet safety requirements and the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The entire batch was destroyed in accordance with established procedures in the presence of a commission. Administrative offense cases have been initiated against the guilty persons, and the inspection materials have been sent to the authorized bodies for further procedural decisions.

The Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan continues joint work with state bodies to identify and suppress cases of illegal trafficking of egg products. All recorded violations are sent to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the State Revenue Committee, and the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee.

Despite the current restrictions, cases of selling unlabeled eggs of Russian origin are still being identified in some regions of the country. In this regard, state bodies continue systematic inspections of markets and trade facilities across the country to protect consumers and ensure market transparency.

It is recalled that since April 17, 2026, Order No. 146 of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the temporary ban on the import of food chicken eggs has come into force. The measure is aimed at suppressing gray imports, preventing dumping, and maintaining a stable price situation in the domestic market during the period of seasonal demand growth.

The practice of temporarily restricting egg imports has been applied in Kazakhstan for several consecutive years. Such measures are introduced during periods when domestic poultry farms fully meet the needs of the internal market. This helps protect Kazakh producers from dumping imports, create fair competitive conditions for the sale of domestic products, and maintain stable prices for consumers.
