On June 4, Kazakhstan celebrated National Symbols Day, a holiday that commemorates the most important attributes of the independent state: the Flag, Coat of Arms, and Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A ceremonial flag-raising ceremony was held in Atyrau's National Symbols Square. The event was attended by Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov, members of parliament, representatives of government and law enforcement agencies, veterans, youth, and residents.
Residents gathered for the national holiday joined in singing the National Anthem.
Speaking to the crowd, Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov emphasized the special role of national symbols in strengthening patriotism and national unity.
"President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly noted that national symbols unite our people on the path to common goals, strengthen the national spirit, and instill a sense of patriotism. Respect for national symbols begins with respect for one's country. If every citizen—from the youngest to the oldest—cherishes our symbols, it will be a manifestation of true love for the Fatherland. I wish that our flag always flutters proudly, that our anthem inspires new generations, and that Kazakhstan's independence remains strong and unshakable," Serik Shapkenov said.
The festive event concluded with a concert featuring regional artistic groups.
