The grand opening of a new gym took place in the village of Zhumba in the Samar region. The facility has become long-awaited for residents, as the village has not had its own gym for decades.
The event was attended by Akim of Samar district Serik Zhenisov, villagers, teachers, students and distinguished guests.
The school in Zhumba was built in 1988 and for a long time did not have a gym. Physical education classes were conducted in unsuitable conditions. Today, 32 students study at the school and 12 children attend a mini-center.
The akim of the district noted that the construction of the gym was the result of appeals from residents, supported at the regional level by Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Nurymbet Saktaganov.
Construction began at the end of 2025 and was completed as soon as possible. The contractor is IP Utegenova.
The gym was equipped with sponsorship without straining the budget. The hall has a table tennis table, gym mats, exercise equipment, uneven bars, barbells, dumbbells, a volleyball net, horizontal bars, as well as arm wrestling and togyzkumalak equipment. For convenience, there are showers, bathrooms and a warm changing room.
As part of the development of the district's infrastructure, the Marinogorka–Zhumba 38 km long road continues to be repaired: this year, work is underway on the first 8 km, further reconstruction will be continued in stages.
