Address of the National Commission on Women Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Dear citizens of Kazakhstan,

The National Commission on Women Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan expresses serious concern over the increasing number of cases of child fatalities and injuries on the roads.

With the arrival of summer, children spend more time outdoors — in the streets, courtyards, sports grounds, and recreational areas.

That is why, during this period, the safety of children largely depends on the attentiveness and responsibility of adults.

In this regard, the National Commission appeals to parents, drivers, and all citizens of the country to demonstrate special responsibility for the life and health of children during the upcoming summer holidays.

Dear parents!

Please talk to your children about safe behavior on the road, in courtyards, near water bodies, and in nature. Remind them of these rules regularly.

Explain to children that roads require full attention. They must cross the road only at pedestrian crossings, ensuring safety first, and should dismount from bicycles or scooters before crossing.

Provide children with protective equipment when using bicycles, scooters, and roller skates.

Pay special attention to safety at home. Do not leave windows open without protective devices, eliminate situations that may lead to a child falling, and securely store potentially dangerous items and substances.

Do not leave children unattended and monitor their whereabouts. In the evening, children should not be outside without adult supervision.

These simple rules help preserve the most valuable thing — a child’s life and health.

Dear drivers!

Most of you are parents, older brothers, or sisters. Please remember this when driving.

Be extremely attentive on the roads, especially near residential buildings, courtyards, parks, and playgrounds.

Observe speed limits, reduce speed near pedestrian crossings and in residential areas.

Do not use mobile devices while driving.

A child may not notice a car. The driver must notice the child.

A child’s life may depend on a single second of your attention.

Dear citizens of Kazakhstan!

The life and health of children is a shared responsibility of the family, society, and the state.

No preventive measures can replace adult attentiveness, personal example, and a caring attitude toward children.

Let us work together to ensure that our children’s holidays are safe.
